What is short-term memory?
Short-term (working) memory holds information for a few seconds while you use it, like a phone number you just heard. It is often said that people can hold only a handful of items at once, around 4 to 7.
Why random games?
Memory tests usually repeat one task. In GAMIQ a memory game can come right after a reaction game, so you also see how quickly you can switch modes — part of real gaming skill.
Tips to remember more
- Group items into chunks (3 + 3 instead of 6).
- Say the order in your head, or make a small story.
- Look at the whole pattern first, then the details.
- Stay calm — rushing makes you forget.
