GAMIQ ("we", "this site") respects your privacy. This page explains what information is used when you play GAMIQ and why.

No account needed

You can play GAMIQ without signing up. The only thing we ask for is a nickname of your choice, which is shown in the ranking. Please do not use your real name or personal information as your nickname. We do not ask for your email address or other contact details in the game.

Your game record (saved in your browser)

To keep your GAMIQ score when you come back, your game record is saved in your own browser (using a browser feature called localStorage). This includes your level, your scores by skill, the number of games played, clears, fails, streaks and total play time. This record is for one day and is reset every day at 0:00 UTC.

Your nickname and a random player ID (made by your browser, not linked to who you are) are also saved in your browser, so you don't have to type your nickname again.

Your Daily Challenge results of the day and your sound on/off setting are also saved in your browser.

This saved record stays on your device. You can delete it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. Private / incognito windows do not keep it after you close them.

Ranking (saved on our server)

To show the rankings (today, all-time and Daily Challenge), the following is sent to our server and stored there (we use Cloudflare to run the server and database):

Your nickname, level and ranking score (and Daily Challenge total) are shown publicly in the ranking. Your player ID is never shown to other players. We keep this ranking data while the ranking service is provided. If you want your ranking data deleted, please contact us from the Contact page with your nickname and the date you played. Nicknames that are offensive or include personal information may be removed.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how GAMIQ is used and to improve it. Google Analytics may use cookies and similar technologies and may collect information such as pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location, and time spent on the site.

We also send game events to Google Analytics, such as which game was played, the game score, clear or fail, play time, and your GAMIQ score. We use this information to improve game balance and the overall experience, not to identify you personally.

Cookies

This site may use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and, in the future, advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Advertising

We may show ads from third-party ad services such as Google AdSense in the future. Ad providers may use cookies to show ads based on your interests. If we start showing ads, we will update this policy.

If you follow a link to another website, that site's own privacy policy applies.

We may update this policy when the service or the tools we use change. The latest version will always be on this page.
